Q: Is the general public allowed to walk through my event?
A: No. There is a public walkway that goes around the edge of the Artsgarden space, but the main floor and balcony are blocked off and only accessible to event guests.
Q: Can I have only a ceremony and not a reception?
A: The Indianapolis Artsgarden does offer space for a ceremony only. Wedding ceremonies at the Artsgarden have a flat fee of $2000, which includes chairs, A/V, security, and any tables needed.
Q: Can we host our ceremony rehearsal in the same space?
A: We offer complimentary space for your rehearsal should the space be available. Rehearsals are usually held the day prior to your wedding. Should your space be needed for a paying customer, a rehearsal can be offered on a different day or during public hours. Contact the Artsgarden staff to arrange.
Q: Is parking available for my guests?
A: Parking is available in a variety of garages in the area, the closest and most convenient parking garage is located off of Washington Street, as part of Circle Centre Mall. This garage is open 24 hours and takes credit cards.
Q: When can I set up?
A: Full set up begins 2-3 hours prior to your event. Our caterers place the tables, linens, and chairs in your rented space. Exact timing of set up is determined by timeline of events. Contact Artsgarden staff for more information.
Q: Can I place a hold on my event date?
A: Absolutely! You may place a hold on your date for 14 days. There is no fee to hold the space. Should a rental agreement and deposit not be signed and received within 14 days, the space will be released from the hold.
Q: Can I use whatever vendors I wish?
A: The Artsgarden's only exclusive vendors are the catering services. You are welcome to use any other vendors of your choice.
Q: Will I be required to sign a contract and supply insurance?
A: All renting parties will be required to sign a contract and put a deposit down in order to use the Artsgarden. Separate event insurance is required according to the Event Guidelines.
Q: Is security required for my event?
A: Yes. Security is an additional cost of $25 per hour for all events at the Artsgarden. We work with a private security company and will arrange for an officer for your event.
Q: How do I get liquor for my event?
A: All beverage arrangements shall be made through our catering partners for your event. Liquor brought in from other sources that is not pre-arranged through the catering service will be subject to confiscation.
Q: Are there smoking areas in the building?
A: The Artsgarden and surrounding spaces (Claypool Court, Circle Centre Mall) are all smoke-free environments. Guests may smoke outside as long as they are 50 ft. or more from the doors of the entrance.
Q: Does the Artsgarden provide audio/visual equipment and assistance?
A: All A/V equipment is included in your total rental costs. This includes sound, lighting, microphones, podium, a projector and screen, and more. A facility technician is $25 per hour, but is always included in the total rental cost.
