The George Washington Method for Blues Ukulele told by Willy Claflin
Storytelling Arts of Indiana
Willy Claflin says he “cannot tell a lie.” He claims to have stumbled into historical documents which suggest a number of revelations about the Father of Our Country: that among other things, George Washington invented the kazoo, was an abstract artist working in neo-Cubish 3-D collage, and suffered from an odd pseudo-Tourette’s affliction causing him to unexpectedly exclaim, “Red hot mama!” Claflin faithfully reproduces our first president’s unique method for blues ukulele, building to a crescendo which, if believed to be truly Washingtonian, remarkably anticipates 1960’s rock guitar stage theatrics by 200 years. "Accompanied by his faithful sidekick Maynard Moose, Willy Claflin has brought his unhinged comedy and musical surprises to stages across the country and beyond, from California to Cape Clear Ireland." -- National Storytelling Festival.
