Indy Arts Council put the spotlight on Indiana artists during All-Star weekend in Indianapolis, February 16-18, 2024. We produced 87 public art activations, engaging more than 100 artists, curators, and creatives – and they were free for all to experience.
This collaboration with our Arts & Culture Committee partners at Pacers Sports & Entertainment, GANGGANG, and Indiana Humanities showcased Indy’s strong ties between arts and sports for the weekend’s 190K visitors.

Our team’s focus has been on large-scale public art activations that will inspire and engage all who visit Indy’s Home Court. We’re also excited for the ongoing impact some of these artworks will have through our Sidewalk Galleries program with the City of Indianapolis.”
Indy Arts Council worked with Pacers Sports & Entertainment to commission 24 Indiana artists to depict 24 Indiana basketball stories on 5-ft diameter sculptures. During All-Star weekend, these life-size artworks were scattered around downtown event venues.
In partnership with the City of Indianapolis and downtown property owners, large-scale murals by Indianapolis artists decorate storefronts along the streets of “Indy’s Home Court”.
The Sidewalk Galleries “Street Art” edition, curated by Josh Brinson (Bezol One) and Mike Graves, feature work by street and graffiti artists on the Pennsylvania and Delaware rail underpasses.
Two temporary murals by Indianapolis artists Jingo M. de la Rosa and Jonathan Southern adorned the east and west facades of the Indianapolis Artsgarden. Both pieces pay tribute to Indiana’s unique love affair with the game of basketball.
Downtown became “Indy’s Home Court,” transformed with immersive and interactive exhibits. Visitors experienced four light-based installations highlighting the excitement of basketball and three pop-up installations, including a ‘90s-inspired selfie station.
