Mike Griffey

Mike joined the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA) in 2005 after receiving his BFA in Furniture Design from Indiana University, Herron School of Art and working as a construction supervisor in the platform tennis industry. During his career at the IMA, Mike has held multiple positions from cabinetmaker to his current role as Director of Collection Support and Construction Services. Mike oversees many aspects of the exhibition implementation process including gallery construction, fabrication, furniture making, audio visuals, installation, and project management. He enjoys collaborating with museum professionals, local contractors, and artists to ensure cohesive project execution. After 19 years at the museum, Mike has contributed to dozens of exhibitions and special projects. In his spare time, Mike continues to pursue his love for furniture design and woodworking. He is especially passionate about spending time outdoors hiking, camping, exploring, and biking with this wife and two daughters.
