Scott Grow is an Indianapolis-based artist and art instructor currently teaching at Ball State University. He earned his BFA from the Herron School of Art and his MFA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Grow’s work spans painting and sculpture, with a focus on the interplay of color, material, light, and form. His sculptural pieces explore the transformative qualities of materials, particularly those that capture, reflect, or refract light in unexpected ways, creating dynamic, immersive experiences. Through his work, he seeks to evoke contemplation and heightened awareness of the spaces we inhabit and the objects we surround ourselves with, inviting viewers to engage more deeply with their visual perception and their surroundings.
“Much of my work has to do with the play between process and materials. Working towards an organic abstraction. Objects that seem almost familiar. Works that are confident and willing to confront the space in which they are in.” -Scott Grow
