THIS MONTH AT THE INDIANAPOLIS ARTSGARDEN

Indianapolis Artsgarden celebrates National Poetry Month with readings by local poets and an exhibition by Indiana Poet Laureate Joyce Brinkman

Guide to Capturing the Moon: Illustrated Poems by Joyce Brinkman

Joyce Brinkman, Indiana Poet Laureate 2002-2008, believes in poetry as public art. Color and light have inspired permanent public installations through collaborations with glass artists and painters, while the colors black and white figure prominently in her Moon paintings. Her latest printed works include Seasons of Sharing A Kasen Renku Collaboration, Leapfrog Press 2014, Elizabeth Barrett Browning in the Literary Portals to Prayer Series from ACTA Publications 2019 and Catena Poetica from Finishing Line Press 2022. She co-edited Urban Voices 51 poems from 51 America Poets with Dr. Carolyn Kreiter-Foronda and is currently editing an anthology The Polaris Trilogy 2 for Brick Street Poetry that will be sent to the Moon on a SpaceX/NASA flight in 2023 as part of the Lunar Codex where it will remain readable for millions of years. Download a free microchap book of her poetry at https://www.origamipoems.com.

Proceeds from the sale of this work will benefit the Wug Laku Mental Health & Wellness Grants supporting central Indiana artists. Learn more at www.indykeepscreating.org.

Please note that the exhibition may not be on view during private Artsgarden events.
