If I weren't an arts administrator, I would be: Designing roller coasters!
Inspiration: Travel. Seeing the world helps open the mind and center the soul. One of my favorite quotes is: “We travel not to escape life but for life not to escape us.”
Reading: Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow
Listening to: Adele 25 – still can’t get enough of it
Zen Moment: Listening to the ocean
Current Project: Public Art for Neighborhoods – I am so thrilled that Mayor Hogsett has signed this ordinance into law. It will bring great programs and wonderful art to neighborhoods throughout Marion County. The arts can truly help to change lives and this program can help make that happen.
Dream Project: I would love to create a MacArthur Genius Award program for Indianapolis. There are so many incredible artists and arts administrators doing wonderful work. It would be great to honor and celebrate even more of them.
What artist/musician (living or deceased) would you like to have dinner with and where would you take them? Prince. I would take him to Union 50 and try to get him on stage
Love about the Indy arts scene: The diversity and richness of the experiences. We have an incredible arts community here and there is much to enjoy and explore.
When you are not out crusading for the arts, where can we find you? At an amusement park somewhere chasing after that next new coaster ‘credit’ or on a cruise ship!
