8pm – 9pm

“The Everyday SoulSinger” holds court when he has the microphone. From the stage, he has the opportunity to connect with you. From there, he can be the casual interruption enjoyed in this thing called life. He gives you, well, himself. But that’s his role: to make you feel. Bashiri Asad is “The Everyday SoulSinger.”

See Bashiri Asad as you have never seen him before in the debut of his new show as The Cabaret’s Artist in Residence. The show will take audiences on an intimate journey with “The Everyday SoulSinger” and feature songs from his newest album release of the same name. Get to know the man who has come to define his sound as “IndySoul.” From shoo-wop style singing groups and classical vocal training to performances locally and abroad, his vocal prowess has grown into the soul-stirring entity it is known as today. The influences of Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke, and Luther Vandross echo in his performances; those influences, coupled with his own strength and passion, have come together to create his version of true soul music. Humble in his approach and relentless in his delivery, Bashiri engages and entertains audiences in new ways with each show.
