The Full Circle Nine Gallery (FC9) will feature guest artist Mirvia Sol Eckert in “Color & Contrast” as part of the First Friday art tour at the Full Circle Nine Gallery (FC9), 6-9pm on Friday, February 7th. Admission and parking are free.
Mirvia Sol Eckert highlights her love for both bright colors and the drama of black, white, and gray, each palette acting as a balance in this painting collection. “There are lively, fun pieces along side darker, more serious ones,” Eckert said. “This reflects how I see the world—my thoughts and feelings—and how art serves as a representation of my inner self. February can be a cold and dreary month in Indiana, and my work resonates in the beauty found in both bright and moody colors.”
About Mirvia Sol Eckert
Mirvia Sol Eckert has been a working acrylic painter for over 13 years, and has impacted her community long before by teaching art enrichment classes to elementary students as well as by spending years as a graphic designer before becoming a full-time fine artist. Eckert, a proud Puerto Rican, is also the co-founder of the Indy Latina Artists organization. She draws upon all of that experience in her body of work.
“I create artwork that combines recognizable images with abstract backgrounds,” Eckert said. “I use crisp lines and shapes, often incorporating hidden symbols into my paintings. My creativity stems from exploring ideas, emotions, and experiences. I find inspiration in cultural diversity, the details of nature, and even in times of emotional struggle. I paint because that’s the best way for me to express my feelings without using words. It gives me control over how I communicate what’s important to me, allowing me to focus my energy and to escape into my work.”
