The Full Circle Nine Gallery (FC9) will feature Steven Block in “Tree Wrangler” as part of the First Friday art tour at the Full Circle Nine Gallery (FC9), 6-9pm on Friday, July 5th. Admission and parking are free.

Steven Block is recently retired and can now channel all of his ideas and creative energy into artistic pursuits. In this case, that means creating custom woodcraft furniture.

“I hope to focus my retirement career on building furniture and making utilitarian creations with artistic elements,” Block said. Block has an eye for details and dedication to showmanship and integrity. His artwork is useful too, along with sturdy, long-lasting, and intricate.

About Steven Block

A recent addition to FC9, Steven Block has always had a flair for creation. His career was spent in construction before his interest in art led him down an intriguing path. He undertook restoration woodwork for the Ball family’s historical buildings around Muncie, Indiana. As a result, Block’s impact can be seen and felt all over Muncie.

Block is an Indiana native who first dreamed of becoming a forest ranger. He took off to Purdue University, but after one semester, he realized that it would involve far more devotion to college than he wanted to pursue. Undaunted by the sudden change in his plans, Block instead attended Arizona State before finishing an Art History degree back in Muncie at Ball State University. The latter half of Steven Block’s working life has since been devoted to cabinets, as well as renovation and remodeling work.

And, while he is new to FC9, visitors may have seen a version of some of his woodwork via his daughter and the FC9 operation manager Dawn Cooper. Block creates custom frames in support of the artists in his life, and that includes for several of Cooper’s paintings in the gallery. He and his family are very excited for his art gallery debut.
