Indianapolis Jazz Collective presents “Christmas in July” featuring Rebecca Rafla

The Indianapolis Jazz Collective is an all-star group of the city’s finest jazz musicians. Led by Rob Dixon, the Artistic Director of Indy Jazz Fest, the collective often features special guest soloists and notable figures in the jazz world. They curate unique collaborations, and in the past, have included artists such as Bobby Watson, Stefon Harris, and Randy Brecker.

Indianapolis vocalist Rebecca Rafla is a familiar voice on the Indianapolis scene, where she regularly performs a diverse selection of music. Her repertoire encompasses timeless classics from the Great American Songbook, the infectious rhythms of Bossa Nova, and popular and soulful tunes. With a vocal delivery described as both laid-back and graceful, she evokes the stylings of iconic artists such as Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald, enchanting listeners with her musical narratives and engaging stage presence.

In addition to her solo performances, Rafla collaborates with the vocal group VOCALEASE and has graced the stage at events like the Indy Jazz Fest. Her musical versatility shines through in her interpretations across different genres. Notably, Rebecca Rafla also holds a DMD and is a pediatric dentist, demonstrating a remarkable balance between her artistic pursuits and her professional career in healthcare.
