Following a sold-out inaugural year in 2024, Indy Dance Film Night returns to the Kan-Kan Cinema with a brand-new assortment of short dance films on January 22, 2025. Presented by the Indy Dance Council, it’s an evening celebrating the intersection of dance and cinema in Indiana, featuring local performers, choreographers, and directors.

Last year’s line-up included talent from Indianapolis Ballet, Dance Kaleidoscope, Butler University, Indiana University, and more, showcasing the rich dance landscape the state has to offer. This year’s line-up will include shorts by Amanda Hoover, Katie Phelan (Digital Dance Collective), Hannah Crane (Seda Negra/Black Silk Dance Company & Create Freedom Arts Projects), Meghan McGillicuddy (Strive Dance Company), Lauren Curry (Indy Movement Arts Collective), and more! Follow @indydancecouncil on Instagram for the latest updates. You can help us spread the word by using #idfn25 on social media.

Indy Dance Film Night will take place at Kan-Kan Cinema (1258 Windsor St.) on Wednesday, January 22, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased from Kan-Kan Cinema online at or in-person at the box office.

Indy Dance Film Night is recommended for ages 10 and up. The running time is approximately 90 minutes, including a Q&A with the filmmakers.

Purchase an exclusive Indy Dance Film Night cocktail or mocktail at the event and $1 will be donated to the Indy Dance Council.
