December brings the holidays, and nothing says “holiday” like returning favorite Krista Detor! She has played the Indy Folk Series several times before, and this time around promises a new band and some new music, along with many favorites.
Detor is an award-winning composer, pianist and singer-songwriter whose music defies easy categorization. With her expressive, sultry voice, artful song crafting, intelligent, heartfelt lyrics, and razor-sharp wit, she will delight you with a performance that you won’t soon forget. Based in Bloomington, IN, she has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe, and has a world-wide reputation.
Her album Mudshow (2005) launched Detor on the world stage, while release of The Silver Wood: Winter Songs (2007), established her as a favorite during the winter holidays. Since then, her solo albums have reached national and international prominence, including #1 on the EuroAmerican chart. She’s shared stages with Victor Wooten, The Neville Bros., and Loudon Wainwright, among many others; and collaborated on the award-winning stage show and CD of Wilderness Plots with Carrie Newcomer and Tim Grimm.
Her most recent release, Chaos, Collisions and Clocks: The Best of Krista Detor, (2019) features such Hoosier notables as Amanda Biggs and Jason Wilber.
Tickets are $20 in-person or livestream via Zoom.
