International Short Film Showcase @ Living Room Theaters, Indianapolis
The Showcase features nine films that Indiana filmmakers have been part of making at a film camp called Summer Media Studio – in Europe! Since 2018, filmmakers from Indiana have participated in a program called Learn Filmmaking in Europe (LFE). Established in collaboration with Indiana Filmmakers Network (IFN) and Summer Media Studio (SMS) by Paul W Nethercott, the LFE program has empowered over a dozen Indiana participants to go on a grand filmmaking adventure in Europe.
Indiana filmmakers Walter Bender, Rodney Carlstrom, Goldie Ingram, Brandy Lee Metzger, Paul W. Nethercott, Boston Scharwarth, Manon Voice, and David Yosha will screen films they helped make. Films made by Indiana participants during SMS have screened at YES Film Festival in Columbus, Victory International Film Festival in Evansville, River Bend Film Festival in Goshen, and Hobnobben Film Festival in Fort Wayne, among many other film festivals.
Inesa Kurklietytė, the leader of SMS and a prominent Lithuanian film director and academic, is the guest of honor.
