From June 19–22, 2025, KVML, alongside partners including the Crispus Attucks Museum, Madam Walker Legacy Center, Indiana University Bloomington, and Indiana Landmarks, will host a multi-day Juneteenth celebration that lifts up Black resilience, creative resistance, and Indianapolis’ historic role in the African American journey toward freedom.
Centered in the Indiana Avenue district, these events explore the legacies of jazz, civil rights, journalism, global Black movements, and the cultural memory embedded in our city.
