What do you do when your town is in moral decline? You gather the village elders and try to shore up past glories by reinstating the May Day festivities of your childhood. What do you do  when you can’t find a suitably virtuous candidate for May Queen? You totally embarrass Albert Herring, the shy son of the town’s grocer, by electing him as May King! What happens when his friends spike his punch at the coronation? To find out, you’ll have to come see Butler Opera Theatre bring Benjamin Britten’s comic masterpiece Albert Herring to life in the Schrott Center on the campus of Butler University. Performances will be free of charge on Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13.
