The Butler University Wind Ensemble opens its 2024-2025 season with a program titled Bouquet of Dreams. This collection of repertoire takes us back to the 19th century with Reynaldo Hahn’s Le Bal de Beatrice de Este, a masterwork in the chamber winds repertoire featuring graduate pianist Bibiana Miskolciova, a student of Professor of Piano, Dr. Kate Boyd.

Additionally, we will showcase Assistant Professor of Music, Dr. Zach Cooper, with a new concerto for horn by Catherine Likhuta. The Butler University Wind Ensemble and Dr. Cooper were consortium members of this excellent new work, and it was funded generously by an IDEA Grant from the Jordan College of the Arts.

Finally, to feature the richness and history of the wind band repertoire, one needs to look no further than Percy Grainger’s masterpiece, Lincolnshire Posy. Coupled with Contre Qui, Rose, and Lola Flores, this program is sure to have something for everyone.
