Ogbaniko: Stories From Home is a unique unique live cultural event in the city of Indianapolis where immigrant communities share their stories of home – personal stories, folklores, excerpts of books, songs or even spoken words – and how these stories are helping them build a life in a new country.

“Ogbaniko,” is the Igala word for the Ant Lion, known for its unique way of moving forward by walking backward. This powerful metaphor is the heart of our motto: “Looking backwards, moving forward.” This is an experience we believe will resonate deeply with participants, showing how our past can empower our future.

This is not just an event, it is a journey; of how our roots become our wings, of cultural connection, of understanding the immense power of stories, and recognizing how these stories shape us, often without us even realizing it.

By sharing our diverse narratives, we aim to illuminate the undeniable threads of humanity that connect us all, transcending geographical borders and cultural divides.
