Amisha Padnani will discuss her innovative efforts to include the stories of remarkable women in the pages of the New York Times via her “Overlooked” project. Recognizing that the newspaper was disproportionately omitting obituaries of women, Padnani has worked with more than 150 different writers to right this historical wrong. And her work continues as she collaborates with historians and journalists to document the lives of scientists, artists, explorers, LGBTQ and disability rights activists, and more.
This presentation at the historic Madam Walker Legacy Center will serve as the keynote for the 2024 Hoosier Women at Work History Conference.
Padnani’s keynote speech is free and open to the public. To reserve tickets, click on the RSVP button above.
