With a witty and theatrical approach that has drawn comparisons to Ben Folds and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Sammy Miller and The Congregation are on a mission to put the generosity back into jazz and bring art back to the people. Led by Grammy-nominated drummer Miller, the seven-piece group is a community of adventurous and charismatic musicians who are conservatory-trained but have not lost their childlike wonder and awe for playing music. Since its inception, the Congregation has played nonstop around the world, including at Lincoln Center, the White House and the Newport and Monterey jazz festivals.
