Static is an exhibition of sculptures by Andrew Perry Davis.

Artifacts and antique toys inspire many of the forms he sculpts. The doll-like figures are both familiar and ambiguous. Inspiration often comes from studying how something is put together or how the surface is wearing off. Davis uses animal characters to explore different human qualities, giving them a lingering sense of mystery. Elements that seem out of place prompt the viewer to play with their own references and interpretations. His ceramic animal characters wear protective suits that allow them to explore a perilous environment in this new work.

The show will be up September 6th through 27th. Join the artist for a reception Friday, September 6th from 6-9 pm at Fountain Square Clay Center. Presented by the Indy Clay Co-op.
