Join us on an incredible journey with Power Plant Grant recipient Zola Lamothe as we explore the vibrant history of Indianapolis through creative set design and stunning photography! This exhibition transforms viewers into witnesses of a rich cultural legacy that deserves celebration.
Made possible by The Andy Warhol Foundation, Zola’s work honors Indianapolis’ past while confronting the effects of gentrification. She recreates community scenes where homes, churches, and livelihoods once stood—right on the Indiana University Indianapolis campus!
Through this powerful visual storytelling, you’ll experience the stark contrast between what was and what is, prompting reflection on what could have been. But this project is more than just art—it’s a call to action, sparking important conversations about Indiana laws, future reforms, and how we can prevent further displacement.
