September 2019 | DeHaan Artist of Distinction Group Exhibition II
In 2017, the Arts Council of Indianapolis partnered with the DeHaan Family Foundation to create the DeHaan Artist of Distinction Award for the purpose of honoring Indianapolis-based contemporary visual artists with grants of up to $10,000 each for aspirational projects.
In September 2019, Gallery 924 presented a curated group exhibition of the second round of recipients: Anila Quayyum Agha, Kassim Norris, Artur Silva, Stefan Petranek, and Cory Robinson. Each artist received the award in 2018 for a specific project that pushed their careers in new dynamic ways, embodying the goals of the program which include a high tolerance for risk and exploration. The works presented in this show represent the outcomes of this new artistic investigation.
