Each month, a small- to mid-sized organization will be featured in 30-second radio spots (40 spots throughout the month). This is a promotional partnership between WICR and Indy Arts Council.
Selected organizations must be based in the Indianapolis metropolitan area and have:
Help us celebrate iibada Dance Company as February’s WICR Arts Organization of the Month! Iibada, founded by Sabra Logan, has been teaching us all how to dance--and appreciate dancing as an art form--for 34 years.
Tickets go on sale in mid-February for "Glorious: The Revival," which Iibada will present March 24-26 at Ben Davis High School. "Glorious" is the moving story of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Indy's first African American Church. There's also "Glorious: The Experience," a pop-up museum presented in partnership with Bethel A.M.E. and the Indiana Historical Society.
Help us celebrate Storefront Theatre as January’s WICR Arts Organization of the Month! Storefront, founded in 2016 by artistic director Ronan Marra, focuses on new work by underrepresented playwrights.
Storefront will be featured on WICR (88.7) radio spots all month long. Make sure to see Post-Democracy, the theater's first play in their new space at 2416 E. 55th St. Admission is donation-only for the show, Jan. 13-29. Get tickets here.
Make sure to tune into WICR (88.7), a non-commercial, educational public radio station owned and operated by the University of Indianapolis. The jazz and classical music station can be heard in 20 central Indiana counties and online at WICROnline.org.
