10th Annual Indianapolis Children’s Choir Teacher Symposium

The Indianapolis Children’s Choir is proud to host our 10th annual symposium for music educators! This event is a chance to come together to innovate, learn, and refresh, with the goal of tangible takeaways that you can implement in your own music teaching setting. Join us for hands-on sessions and choir observations with experienced leaders from the renown Indianapolis Children’s Choir, plus exclusive insights from a guest clinician.

All music teachers and directors – from all backgrounds – schools, churches, community choirs, and elementary through high school are invited to this week of learning and song.

Dates and Times:
July 21-24, 2025
Monday – Wednesday, 9:00 am – 2:30 pm
Optional Conducting Intensive Session is from 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Thursday, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, with optional concert following

Location: ICC Performing Arts Center at 9111 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis 46250

Virtual Option:
The virtual session begins two weeks after in-person sessions and will be available for one month. An online platform will be available for virtual participants to submit questions and have discussions as they navigate through the recorded sessions.

Cost:
$40: In-Person OR Virtual Registration
$15 Additional: Optional Conductive Intensive Session with Joshua Pedde

A certificate of professional development hours completed will be provided.

What to Expect:
We’re always evolving to meet the needs of our community of colleagues. Each year, the ICC Teacher Symposium designs new sessions and hosts special guest speakers. Every Symposium is different – join us this year for our 10th annual Symposium!

Sessions on hot topics like: teaching motivation, social-emotional learning, Kodály Methodology, beginning teacher support, movement in the classroom, conducting technique, vocal pedagogy, the ICC’s curriculum and published resources, and much more.

Observation of a choir in action: See ICC’s Summer Music Camp student sessions and attend the Just A Dream Away Summer Music Camp concert performance on July 24. A complimentary ticket will be provided.
Nourishment for body and mind: Daily lunch and snacks are included in the cost of registration for in-person attendees

We are so excited to bring you this year’s special guest, Dr. Marcela Molina, an experienced and accomplished choral conductor and educator! She will share her insights into working with youth, inclusive and outreach programming, and more.
