Indy Arts Council Opportunity

Artist Pay Equity Panel

Deadline: 02/10/2025

A panel discussion on equitable artist pay, exploring fair practices and fostering fairness in the arts.

The Indy Arts Council in partnership with INSPIRE Music Collective invites you to an open, moderated panel discussion on equitable pay for artists, bringing together creators across various mediums and experiences. This engaging conversation will feature artists who have navigated the complexities of being compensated fairly and those who have paid others for creative work. Together, they will explore what equitable pay looks and feels like, offering actionable recommendations to support fair practices across the arts sector.

Whether you’re an artist, an arts organization, or a member of the public passionate about fostering fairness in creative industries, this is your opportunity to learn, share, and take part in shaping a more equitable future.

Panelists:

  • Richard “Sleepy” Floyd (moderator, INSPIRE Music Collective)
  • Mat Davis (writer, performer, literary artist)
  • Clockwork Janz (culinary composer)
  • Alejandro Reyna (musician)
  • Koda Witsken (public artist, art consultant, visual artist)

Note: This discussion is part of the Indy Arts Council’s ongoing exploration of the conditions that support all central Indiana creatives to thrive. While fair pay is an important starting point, the conversation will continue to evolve as we work to build resources and create meaningful dialogue that supports arts and culture workers.

Admission: Free and open to all.
