Bloomington Handmade Market is looking for a social media manager. This person would be responsible for the following:
– scheduling the IG takeover with our artists
– designing images/infographics in Canva (an online design platform) for a variety of purposes: representing show sponsors, countdown to event, communicating parking options and other information about the show(s)
– posting Reels and Images organically on social media when the takeover is NOT taking place (the takeover is generally the entire month before the show)
– designing newsletters to be sent out four times per show season
– reposting images/posts from our makers throughout the year so as to not have ‘dead’ time
– sharing social media knowledge with the team and growing our following
This would/should take approximately 2-3 hours per week for the 4 -6 weeks leading up to each Market.
There are also additional 1-2 hour meetings with our ‘board’ at least once per month in the 3-4 months leading up to Market (not all are mandatory).
This is for the most part a ‘volunteer’ position – as we don’t pay an hourly wage – but we do pay an honorarium starting at $200 per show* up to $350.
*Bloomington Handmade Market occurs twice per year. Our dates this year are Nov 16 & 17.
