Real Love Baby is a project that celebrates love in all its wonderfully honest forms- complicated, tender, corny, sweet, yearning, chaotic, joyful, frustrating, silly, cheesy, heartfelt, messy, and human. I am seeking work that embraces the real stuff: the big feelings, the quiet moments, the goofy gestures, the soft chaos, the imperfect connections, and more. Romantic, platonic, self-love, family, longing- if it’s real love, baby, it belongs here.
In February 2019, Lexi launched Real Love Baby at the Muncie Makes Lab- a collaborative art show celebrating the messy, joyful, corny, complicated realities of love. The project returned with Real Love Baby 2 in February 2020, and after the world shifted, Real Love Baby 3 moved online in 2021, gathering heartfelt submissions from near and far in online gallery. Most recently, she curated Real Love Baby: Summer Fling in June 2023 with co-curator, Grif Williams, at Storage Space Art Gallery in Indianapolis, Indiana. Across every iteration, Real Love Baby centers the belief that vulnerability is powerful, connection is messy, and love – real love – is worth celebrating in all its forms.
