Cultural Care & Repatriation Specialist at Eiteljorg Museum

Salary Range: $45K-55K

The Cultural Care & Repatriation Specialist is responsible for the critical work of researching and supporting the repatriation process for specific Native American, Alaska Native, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit cultural belongings in the Eiteljorg’s collections to return home to their community of origin. This position will research collections, establish and build upon existing museum relationships with tribes, villages, pueblos, or nations, and keep detailed records of communications with tribes, villages, pueblos, or nations regarding collections care and repatriation. This role is a grant-funded full-time position with full benefits, for a three-year position. The position is open to the option of working remotely, and will require some travel. The Collections Care & Repatriation Specialist will work primarily with the collections and curatorial teams and will be assigned projects by the Director of Collections. They will also interact with the Collections Manager, Hoback Curator of Great Lakes Native Art, Cultures, and Community Engagement and Curator of Native American Art (who is the primary NAGPRA liaison for the museum).
