The Healing Art Show will be held in Bloomington, Indiana, at the Indiana University campus. Art is transformative, therapeutic, and cathartic. Many people use art to express complex emotions and thoughts when words fail them. The artwork for this show will represent themes of mental health and well-being. The show is scheduled to run October 4th through October 31st on the IU Bloomington campus. An opening reception will take place on Friday, 10/4. All submissions will be received in Bloomington after the submission deadline of 9/2. Please click on the link for additional details within the artist application.
Guidelines:
– Works are limited to works on paper, including written word on paper
– Works must be no larger than 16″ x 20″ and no greater than 0.5″ in depth
– Work must be matted in black or white and ready to hang upon arrival to the venue
Impermissible details:
– depictions of assault, violence, and abuse
– depictions of self harm
– distasteful or inappropriate representations of nudity
– company names, logos, images, and general branding
– organic material or material subject to decay
– overtly political images or messaging
– items / elements unnecessarily obscene or grotesque
