GENERAL SUMMARY OF ROLE
At the forefront, the position is the lead for the development, implementation and support of all aspects of IAA’s arts programming. This role includes the need to develop and maintain a presence in the Central Indiana Arts community necessary to promote and maintain IAA’s stature at the desired level, as well as maintain a positive working relationship with the Indy Arts Council.
Position will also assist in the strategic planning, development, design and implementation of marketing plans for the organization, both internal and external, contributing to the development of marketing strategies while working with the various departments of the IAA, with the goal of increasing passenger traffic, air cargo market, parking, property/ commercial development, and the overall image of the IAA. The position works with various service providers and departments, as necessary, to implement marketing, communication and community related strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee all aspects of arts programming within the IAA campus, ranging from concepts to contracts to installation. Works primarily with the Indy Arts Council and other consultants, as needed, to maintain and expand the IAA arts program so it continues to be a strong, positive piece of every traveler’s experience at IND, as well as allowing IND to be showcased as one of the premier locations in the state of Indiana for public art.
- Work with the appropriate IAA departments to oversee the airport’s asset maintenance plan, with respect to art preservation and conservation, in coordination with consultants, as needed
- Oversee the IAA’s performance art strategy bringing in local performing artists/musicians and arts organizations to IND on a regular basis
- Works with Public Affairs department leadership in developing annual strategic marketing, communication and community relations plans, including methodology for measurable results.
- Supports internal / external marketing efforts of all the IAA departments, as needed/assigned.
- Assists with the assessing, building, and maintaining relationships with key service providers, particularly in the arts community.
- Creates, monitors and reviews (this can involve writing & proofreading copy) certain marketing material, strategic presentations, reports and programs to maintain consistency with established image and messaging campaign.
- Assists with governance of corporate identity throughout organization.
- Develops and maintains relationships with individuals and organizations throughout central Indiana whose connections to, and involvement with, the arts community will enhance the IAA’s stature with that constituency.
- Works with Public Affairs department leadership on managing image campaign for the airport and/or authority to meet business objectives of the IAA and IND.
- Monitors and manages social media sites and strategizes with Public Affairs department leadership on customer engagement via social networking and other new media tools.
- Directs the design of temporary signage and assists with design of permanent signage on as-needed basis with the IAA Sign Committee.
- With input from Public Affairs department leadership, helps to organize, evaluate and implement advertising opportunities, which can involve designing and placing adverts in national, regional and specialist publications or managing the process with a service provider.
- Assists with special events, brand/image campaigns and meeting planning (internal, marketing, or community-focused, which can also include photo shoots or other escort duties).
- Assists Director of Public Affairs with daily website maintenance and upgrade projects, communication or other related items/projects, as needed.
- Stays abreast of web trends and corporate image across the internet, including emphasis on social media traffic, trends, and corporate image.
- Works with various departments on feedback from social networking and other web sites.
- Work occasional, flexible hours, as tasks require.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. in Marketing, Communications or related field.
- 2-4 years marketing and/or communications (to include social media) experience, preferably in an arts, industrial, aviation, tourism or travel related field, or other high-profile organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communications with strong analytical and planning skills.
- Direct experience with Web-based marketing and social networking.
- Strong ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications, with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and desktop publishing programs. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Prezi, Canva, and CRAFT is a plus.
- Experience in working with retail, shopping center, or commercial marketing communications a plus.
- Experience in working with advertising agencies, public relations, or media professionals.
- Writing, production, graphic, and visual design experience a plus.
- Ability to perform all the essential functions outlined in the job description without creating a direct threat to the safety of oneself or others.
