Position Overview
The Indy Arts Council is seeking a contractor to support the operations of its grant programs. This position is a part-time, temporary role that will support the team’s ongoing work during the department director’s parental leave. This role will report to the Program Manager.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Assist Program Manager with all activities relating to Indy Arts Council’s annual grantmaking portfolio, including the grant management system, reviewing draft applications, organizing grant panel logistics, supporting grantee contracts and payments, etc.
- Coordinate panel reviews, including orientation, communications, reviewing application materials, panel moderation, and development of materials for grant recommendations.
- Support event programming for the Art & Soul program, including gathering professional development resources and organizing logistics for program-related events.

Background/Experience
- Experience in grants administration, arts or nonprofit management, or related experience
- Database management skills, inclusive of grant management systems and Excel/Google Sheets
Contract Conditions
- Compensation: The pay for this role is $75 per hour with a guarantee of 10-30 hours per week which will range based on the schedule of work estimated (Jan: 10hr/wk; Feb 15 hr/wk; Mar 25-30 hr/wk; Apr: 10-15 hr/wk).
- Duration: The contract position will require up to 275 hours total starting January 14 through April 2025. It will require 1-2 planning meetings in December 2024, and the final scope of work will be structured in partnership with the selected candidate.
- Work Environment: Hybrid. We currently work remotely on Mondays & Fridays, and are in the office for meetings and team collaboration Tuesday-Thursday.
