Bam! Pow! Boom! Comic Book in a Day returns on January 16 and 17, 2026!
Although this event is technically a contest, our primary goal is for every contestant to have fun spending the day being creative and making their very own comic book from scratch. We are also eager to welcome comic fans of all kinds to meet our professional comic book artists/judges, to explore other comic-themed activities at the Ignite Studio, and to marvel at the amazing work made by each of the contestants.
Sign up now to compete in person or online. We have separate divisions for Adults/Teens (13+) and Youth (12 and under) so that you can have the best experience. Contestants in any division are welcome to work digitally or conventionally, and not experience is needed: we’ll have coaches on hand to help you, even if all you draw is stick figures! If you already have some comics experience, you may be eligible for special awards, competing against other pros!
Special Note: Online contestants who register the week of the event may not receive our supplies in time for the event. However, they are welcome to use their own supplies or work digitally. We will contact you to confirm that you will still be able to compete.
Participants MUST be present (if in-person) or logged in (if virtual) for the entire event duration to qualify for awards. There will be an in-person Awards Ceremony Wednesday, January 21st from 6:30-7:30pm, at the Ignite Studio.
Online Competition – Friday, January 16
The Online Competition will take place via Zoom from 8:30 a.m.-4:45 p.m., with 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. allotted for drawing. This portion of the competition is open to creatives of skill levels and locations. The online option is designed for ages 13+, but ages 12 and younger may participate if they wish.
In-Person Competition – Saturday, January 17
The In-Person Competition will take place at the Ignite Studio of the Hamilton East Public Library.
Ages 13+: Event runs from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. allotted for drawing.
Ages 12 & Under: Youth ages 12 and under MUST have adult accompaniment at all times per Hamilton East Public Library policy. Event runs from 10 a.m.-3:15 p.m., with 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. allotted for drawing.
Space to participate in-person is limited! If the in-person option does sell out, you can get on the wait list by emailing us at info@noblesvillecreates.org or sign up for the online option.
Once you register, you will be added to our contact list and will receive updates about the details of the event. Your registration fee will pay for your copy of the Comic Book in a Day compilation. Drawing supplies can be mailed to Online Challenge Artists upon request, and will be made available to In-Person Challenge Artists during the event.
If the registration fee for this event is a barrier for your participation, please contact us for options.
