Pieces for Peace Seeks Local School Hosts

Deadline: 08/31/2024

Pieces for Peace Seeks Local School Hosts

Middle schools and high schools in the Indianapolis area are being sought to create CITYarts Pieces for Peace artworks via locally-hosted workshops that will lead to an exhibition and a peace wall/mural in Indianapolis.  Hosts are also being sought for the exhibition and the mural.

For the schools to be included in CITYarts 50 States of Peace, the first and only required condition is an hour-long CITYarts Pieces for Peace workshop in which a teacher will guide students in creating 6×6 inches artwork that answers the question, “What does peace look like to me? Each artwork will be uploaded to CITYarts’ Online Exhibition, where students can see for themselves the impact they generate and gain confidence in their ability to unite and enact change. Following the workshop’s completion, schools will be invited to exhibit the artworks in a public space together with CITYarts’ Pieces for Peace International Traveling Exhibition, which has been displayed in 18 countries to date.

The artworks created during the workshops can also inspire a CITYarts’ Peace Wall mural in your community.
