About Indiana University Health and the New Downtown Indianapolis Campus
Indiana University Health is the largest physician network in Indiana. In partnership with the Indiana University School of
Medicine, one of the nation’s top medical schools, IU Health provides advanced treatments and care. Headquartered in Indianapolis with locations statewide, IU Health is committed to improving the health of Hoosiers through expert care and a strong, shared culture.
A new, world-class medical campus is being built in downtown Indianapolis to meet the future needs of patients and attract top medical and research professionals. This modern academic health center will reflect IU Health’s vision to make Indiana one of the healthiest states and create a place of healing for generations to come.
About the Art Program
The new campus will include multiple opportunities for public art, both interior and exterior, at a variety of scales. The art program is designed to feature national, regional, and local artists in conversation with one another as part of a dynamic arts community. A mix of curated and commissioned works will engage artists at different career levels and invite a range of voices and perspectives.
Artists are encouraged to review the individual opportunities in this RFQ to determine which are best suited to their experience and interests.
Interior Art Opportunities
The interior art program for IU Health has many opportunities for commissioned and specialty artwork in buildings on the new hospital campus. Interior art opportunities range from framed two-dimensional works to locations with largescale, site-specific installations. Both emerging and established artists based in the United States, and working in two dimensional mediums, light-based works, and/or wall-based sculptures are encouraged to apply.
The interior artwork program will support healing through art while reflecting the community it serves and the values of IU Health.
