Selection Criteria Entries will be juried by the Sister Cities of Greenfield Board of Directors Art Committee.

Project Description Sister Cities of Greenfield will commission a mural to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of their Sister Cities relationship with Kakuda, Japan. The mural will be placed on a restored grain elevator that now functions as a restaurant (https // The
surface space is approximately 640 square feet of painted metal siding. A boom lift will be needed to access the wall.

Artwork Goals Entries should tell the story of a friendship between two cities, Greenfield, IN and Kakuda, Japan, and encompass the essence of the Sister Cities of Greenfield Mission Statement. The mission of Sister Cities of Greenfield is to enrich our community through exchanges that foster understanding, friendship, and cooperation between citizens of Greenfield and our sister city, Kakuda, Japan-Building friendships that last a lifetime. Application Requirements Artists should submit a maximum of 3 examples of previous work with at least one being a completed mural or their website which would include an example of a completed mural. Artists also have the option to submit a concept sketch/proposal in color meeting the goals of the project. A budget proposal should also be included. The budget proposal should account for all expenses including materials, travel, artist fee, etc. The design must be suitable and acceptable for public display for viewing by citizens of all ages.

Project Requirements The chosen artist will enter into a three-way contract with the Hancock County Arts Council and the building owner.

Jury Date April 20, 2024. Notifications of application status will be sent out April 22, 2024. The top 3 artists will receive a $200 design stipend as well.

Budget The budget for this project is $16,000 to $18,000.
