In this collection of large-scale cyanotype* paintings and bronze sculptures, Casey Roberts presents work that could live comfortably on either end of an emotional spectrum.
“Each piece captures a moment, pausing for a minute to acknowledge the feeling of nostalgia,” said Roberts. “And recognition of either; the perfect stillness of a quiet morning alone or maybe finding ourselves and our friends searching for food, covered in our trash, trying to deal. This show has it all.”
*Cyanotype is a camera-less photography process in which objects are placed on a photochemically treated surface, usually paper, and exposed to UV light to create the brilliant blue hue. Roberts uses additional chemical processes resulting in variations of the iconic blue.
