The Arts Council once again partnered with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful to incorporate public art into one of KIB's IPL GreenSpace Grant Neighborhoods.

We are pleased that this artwork received the Merit Award for Public Art at the 2017 Monumental Awards honoring achievement in the built environment of Indianapolis.

Neon “caterpillars” hidden throughout a westside park for kids to find. A sound installation engaging the listener with the environment. A Comm-UNITY dance performance on the near-eastside that spreads light and joy. 

More than 100 public art interventions, or “moments of delight” are waiting to be discovered throughout the city’s neighborhoods as part of Indy Art & Seek. Many of these neighborhoods currently have little to no public art. These art experiences, created by Indianapolis artists and performers, are designed to reflect a sense of identity and place, promote equity and inclusivity, and encourage communities to see their surroundings in new ways. 

24 artists of color created murals on boarded-up storefronts in downtown Indy as an immediate response to worldwide protests calling for the end of police brutality.
