Dave Lawrence, President & CEO

As the city's chief advocate for the arts, Dave directs all aspects of the Arts Council of Indianapolis including arts advocacy and arts policy development, strategic planning and implementation, arts funding programs, and marketing and outreach initiatives. Under his leadership, ACI launched new marketing and arts education initiatives, opened Gallery 924, created a citywide murals initiative, 46 for XLVI, launched the Any Given Child Indy arts education initiative, and created three new artist fellowship programs.

Dave’s community engagement includes service on the boards of Visit Indy and the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, as well as membership on the host and local organizing committees for the Super Bowl XLVI, the 2015 NCAA Men’s’ Final Four, the 2016 US Conference of Mayors, and the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500. Through Dave’s leadership, the Arts Council was the recipient of a 2012 NUVO Cultural Vision Award. Additionally, Dave was a founding member of Americans for the Arts’ Emerging Leaders Council, a member of Class XXIX of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series, and a frequent national grants panelist including most recently for the National Endowment for the Arts. Dave holds a B.A. in Communication from DePauw University.

Shannon LinkerShannon Linker, Vice President

Shannon works closely with the President and CEO on daily management of the council. She also creates and directs programs and services that benefit central Indiana artists, and serves as the Council's principal liaison on artist issues with organizations throughout the city and state. Shannon also directs the Arts Council’s contemporary fine art gallery, Gallery 924.

Ernest Disney-BrittonErnest Disney-Britton, Director of Grant Services & Education Partnerships

Ernest manages both the grantmaking programs and the arts education programs for the Arts Council. As the lead grants officer, he serves as support for arts organizations and individuals who apply for grant and fellowship funding through the Annual Grant Program, Creative Renewal Arts Fellowship, Robert D. Beckmann Jr. Emerging Artist Fellowship, and Transformational Impact Fellowship. Additionally, Ernest coordinates the Any Given Child Indianapolis program that is creating a long-range arts education plan for students in grades K-8 in Indianapolis Public Schools.

Jill oversees all finance-related activities, including budgeting, audits, grant payments, and all accounting functions.

Ken manages day-to-day activities including welcoming visitors to the Arts Council and Gallery 924, providing information and referral services to the public, assisting with meetings and special events, and other special initiatives.

Shawn serves as the website administrator, handling web programming and maintenance, and serves as the IT administrator for the organization.

Lindsey LordLindsey Lord, Public Art & Artist Services Coordinator

Lindsey assists with implementation and coordination of various public art projects, Gallery 924 exhibitions and continued maintenance of ACI's artist database. She also a project manager for the public art program.

Julia directs and manages all aspects of public art programs of the Arts Council of Indianapolis, including project development and execution and maintenance of individual works of art. She works with neighborhood, community, and city partners to enhance public space, make places memorable, and improve quality of life.

Jeff handles the sound, lighting, and audio/visual aspects of Indianapolis Artsgarden events, maintains production equipment and inventory, and assists with events.
